Solution
In an environment or habitat, different types of plants and animals exist in close association and show interdependence. An actively interacting group of a number of different populations of several species in a common environment is known as biotic community.
A mature, self-perpetuating biotic community contains only those species which are successfully adapted to that environment and to other species of that area.
The members of a biotic community are usually divided into three major categories: producers, consumers, and decomposers.
For example : The marsh community comprises of mangroves, mud crabs, crocs, birds, grass, light, water, and temperature.
