Describe a method by which an iron bar can be made a magnet.

Single touch method:
  1. Place an iron bar AB on a table.
  2. Take a bar magnet and place it on the iron bar at end A as shown in the figure.
  3. Move the magnet along the iron bar till the other end B.
  4. Lift the magnet at end B and again place it at end A and again stroke the iron bar.
  5. Repeat the process about 20 to 30 times and turn the iron bar AB upside down and again repeat the process.
  6. The iron bar now becomes a magnet.
