Solution

Activity: To show that liquid pressure at a given depth is the same in all directions.

Theory:

  1. Pressure is defined as the force acting per unit area. At any point in a fluid, it is the same in all directions.
  2. p=hdg where h is the height of the liquid,d is the density of liquid and g is the acceleration due to gravity.

Materials required: Polythene bag, water, and safety pin or any small nail.

Procedure:

  1. Make holes of the same size on the polythene bag with the help of a small safety pin or small nail.
  2. Now fill the bag with water.

Conclusion: We will notice that water starts sprinkling because it exerts pressure in all directions.
