Solution

Experimental set up:

Procedure:
  1. Take four identical glass flasks each fitted with a narrow glass tube through a cork at its mouth.
  2. Then fill the flask A with water, B with kerosene, C with alcohol, D with benzene.
  3. Keep all 4 flasks in a hot water bath with enough hot water in it.
Observation:
  1. After some time, we will see that different liquids rise to different levels.
  2. Water expands the least and benzene expands the most.
  3. This shows that different liquids heated to the same rise in temperature expand by different amounts.
