1. No language was given the status of national language by the Constitution of India.
2. Hindi was considered as the official language of India.But there were provisions in the Constitution to safeguard other languages.
3. Apart from Hindi, there are 21 other languages which are recognised as Scheduled languages by the Indian Constitution.
4. All states in India have their own official languages.
