Question

Describe any two adaptations seen in desert plants.

Open in App
Solution

The adaptations seen in desert plants are:

-Spines and Fewer stomata: leaves are reduced (spines) and have less number of stomata as compared to the other plants. We have seen that transpiration is the most through stomata. So, if the number of stomata is less, the transpiration is also less.

Thick cuticle:-

These plants also have a very thick waxy cuticle to prevent water from escaping outside.E.g. Cactus.
