Solution

Cartilaginous joint is a type of joint in which bones are joined by a connective tissue, cartilage. The cartilage is either hyaline cartilage or fibrocartilage. Here are two types of cartilaginous joints, synchondrosis and symphysis. In synchondrosis joint, the bones are joined by hyaline cartilage. Example includes the joint between the anterior end of a rib and the thoracic cage. In symphysis, the bones are joined by fibrocartilage. Examples include the joint between the manubrium and body portions of the sternum, pubic symphysis.
