Solution

The ball and socket joint is a type of synovial joint. In this, one ball-shaped rounded bone fits into the cup-shaped depression of another bone. This joint allows flexion-extension, adduction-abduction and rotation movement. Examples include hip and shoulder joint. The hinge joint is another type of synovial joint. Examples include ankle, elbow, knee joints. It allows only flexion-extension movement.
