Describe briefly the features of state commission.

Solution

State Commission consists of a president and one of the member has to be a woman. A working or retired judge of High Court can be the President.
The President is appointed by the State Government after consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court.
In 1986, it had jurisdiction to entertain complaints when the value of goods or services exceeds Rs 20 lakhs to 1 crore.
