Connective tissues are those cells that help in binding and joining the different parts of the body. They also act as a packaging tissue which forms a supporting framework for other tissues.

  • They are different from other tissues as their cells are separated from each other and are embedded in ground substance or matrix.
  • The composition of this gel-like substance will vary according to the type of tissue-like solid in case of bone or liquid in case of blood or semi-solid in case of connective tissue proper.
