Describe cotton textile industry of the world?

The cotton textile industries are one of the oldest industries of the world. Initially hand spinning wheels and hand looms were used for making cotton cloths before the 18^th century. However, power looms were introduced during the 18^th century which further led to the development of the cotton textile industry.
In India, the first cotton textile mill was established in Bombay in the year 1854. Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Coimbatore, Chennai, etc. are some of the important centres of cotton textile industries in India.
India, Japan, China and USA are the major producers of cotton textiles in the world.
