Similarity is that both of them have the same heights
Given: Diameter of cylinder = 7 cm
Radius of cylinder (r) = $\frac{7}{2}cm$
And Height of cylinder h = 7 cm
Later surface area of cylinder = $2\pi rh=2\times \frac{22}{7}\times \frac{7}{2}\times 7=154c{m}^2$
Now, lateral surface are of cube = $4l^2=4\times (7{)}^2=4\times 49=196c{m}^2$
Hence, the cube has larger lateral surface area.
