Solution
There are five different placentation present in flowering plants. They are:-
Marginal Placentation:-The placenta forms a ridge along the ventral suture of the ovary and the ovules are born on this ridge and form two rows. The example is a pea.
Axile Placentation:-The placenta is axial and ovules are attached to a multilocular ovary. The example is a tomato.
Parietal Placentation:-The ovules develop on the inner wall of the ovary or on peripheral part and ovary is one chambered but appear like two chambered as false septum is formed known as Replum. The example is mustard.
Free Central Aestivation:-Ovules are born on central axis and septa remains absent. Example is Dianthus.
Basal Placentation:-The placenta develops at the base and single ovule is attached to it. The example is a sunflower.
