Surface water is water that is found on the surface of the earth.
It is found mainly in two forms, the first is in the form of ocean and seas.
The water that is found in oceans and seas is basically saline in nature that is it is unfit for drinking, irrigation, washing and agricultural purposes as the amount of salt present there is more.
Whereas in the other form it is found in rivers, lakes, streams and ponds the water here contain dissolved solved and suspended impurities but it is fit for drinking after the process of filtration as the amount of salt present there is not harmful to be consumed by a body.
