It is or fundamental duty to value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture. Culture and its heritage reflect and shape values, beliefs, and aspirations, thereby defining a people's national identity. It is important to preserve our cultural heritage because it keeps our integrity as a people. State Government, local governments, property owners and members of the community all have a role to play in ensuring that the valuable asset of our heritage is recognized, respected and promoted.
