The disease-causing factors that are present within the body are called intrinsic factors.
Some of the intrinsic factors that might affect human health are:
Malfunctioning of the body organs like kidneys, heart, liver, etc. If some of the organs in the body are not functioning properly, then the cause could be some factor within the body. Eg. Heart stroke in case of malfunctioning of the heart.
Genetic disorders: Genetic disorders are disorders due to faulty genes. Eg. Haemophilia is a genetic disorder that can pass from parents to offsprings.
Hormonal imbalances: Hormones are the chemical messengers secreted by the endocrine glands. Less or excessive secretion of the hormones causes diseases. Eg. Diabetes is a disease caused by hormonal imbalance of insulin hormone.
Malfunctioning of the immune system: Immune system can malfunction due to internal factors. Eg. AIDS is a disease that affects the immune system of the body making it weak and a person may die due to cough and cold too.
