Describe the activity to determine the density of a liquid using density bottle.

To determine the density of given liquid through density bottle follow the following steps :

1. Clean the bottle completely and find the mass of bottle , say $M_1$.
2. Fill the bottle with water and put the glass stopper on the top of bottle due to which excess water will rinse out of bottle and bottle will contain same amount of liquid every time.
3. Now clean all the excess amount of water fro outer surface of bottle and measure the mass of bottle + water , say $M_2$.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 with given liquid and measure the mass of bottle + liquid, say $M_3$.

Now we have ;

Mass of water : $M_2$- $M_1$

Mass of liquid : $M_3$- $M_1$

Density of liquid : 1 $\raisebox{1ex}{$g$}\!\left/ \!\raisebox{-1ex}{$c{m}^3$}\right.$

Volume of liquid / water : $\frac{massofwater}{densityofwater}$

Now we have find both mass and volume of liquid apply the density formula and find the density of liquid.
