Solution:
Art and architecture evolved to a new height under the Chola patronage. They followed the Dravidian style of architecture with multi-storeyed pyramid-like towers called vimana with lofty gopurams.
The interior is composed of mandapas which are the pillared assembly halls. The garbha griha or the sanctum holds the main deity.
One example of this architecture is the Bruhadeshwar temple located in Tanjore. It was built by the great Chola king Rajaraja I.
It is also known as the Big Temple and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are beautiful Chola fresco paintings on the inner wall of the temple.
The most unique feature of the temple is that it has a tall gopuram and a smaller vimana. It is one of the finest examples of Dravidian temple architecture.
