Solution

According to the kinetic theory of matter:

  1. The molecules of liquids are not closely packed as compared to solids. As they have moderate intermolecular space.
  2. Their molecules vibrate, move about and slide past each other. They have a moderate level of energy.
  3. Their molecules are held together by a comparatively weak intermolecular force of attraction.
  4. They do not have a fixed shape. They take the shape of the container in which they are kept.
  5. Liquids can flow. Liquids also have a fixed volume. Liquids can not be compressed easily.
