The production of electricity from magnetism is called as electromagnetic induction.

Activity :

let us take a fixed coil of wire AB. Two ends of the coil are connected to current detecting instrument like galvanometer. When a bar magnet is held at rest inside the coil there will not be a deflection in galvanic current is produced.when bar magnet is moved quickly, we observe the deflection in galvanometer. when the bar magnet is moved away quickly, we find deflection in galvanometer in the opposite side

Applications of electromagnetic induction:

Induction stove works on this principle.
