  1. An allergy is a type of immunological hypersensitivity caused by the antibody immunoglobulin E (IgE).
  2. It has nothing to do with sickness or infection.
  3. Allergies can affect a variety of organs, but the skin and mucous membranes are the most prevalent.
  4. Allergens are particles in the environment that cause our bodies to become hypersensitive.
  5. Allergies are caused by antigens that elicit an excessively strong immunological response.
  6. The following are some of the characteristics of allergies:
  1. Pollen, dust, feathers, animal dander, mites, latex, and even some foods are common allergies.
  2. Sneezing, coughing, running nose, itching rashes, red eyes, difficulty breathing, and swallowing are common allergy symptoms.
  3. Chemicals such as histamine and serotonin are released, causing allergies.
  4. Our bodies manufacture antibodies termed immunoglobulin E antibodies in reaction to allergens (IgE).
  5. Antihistamines, adrenaline, and steroids are among the few medications used to alleviate allergic symptoms.
  6. Adrenaline (epinephrine) is pumped into the body in strong reactions.
  7. Allergies to at least one allergen are common all around the world.
  8. However, due to reduced immunity and a contemporary lifestyle, people are increasingly susceptible to allergies.
