  1. The diseases that can be transferred from person to person are known as communicable diseases.

The ways of transmission of communicable diseases are as follows:

  1. Direct contact:
    • Communicable or infectious diseases can be transmitted by direct contact with an infected person.
    • Diseases can be spread when people share their daily use items such as towels, clothes, toothbrushes, utensils, water bottles, etc.
  2. Through contaminated food and water:
    • Food and water may be contaminated with germs when the food is not covered or infected by flies.
  3. Airborne:
    • By breathing in the tiny droplets that spread from the cough or sneeze of an infected person in the surrounding.
  4. By bites:
    • They can also be spread by the bite of an insect such as the mosquitoes.
    • When these insects bite the infected person and such their blood, the germ is carried by them and spread to healthy individuals.
