Distribution of Rainfall across the globe:
1. Between the latitudes 10 degree and 30 degree N and S of the equator, due to the trade winds, rainfall is heavier on the eastern coasts, and decreases towards the west.
2. Between the latitudes 40 degree and 60 degree N and S of the equator due to the westerlies, the rainfall is heavy on the west coast, and decreases towards the East.
3. Low pressure areas, especially around the equator receive high rainfall than high pressure areas.
4. The rainfall is higher over the oceans than on the continent.
