Solution
The cell wall is an outer layer surrounding certain cells that are outside of cell membrane. All cells have cell membranes, but generally only plants, fungi, algae. Most bacteria and archaea have the cell with cell walls.
Structure of cell wall varies between species may depend on cell type and developmental stage.
A typical plant cell has three layers:
Functions of the cell wall are:
1) It is flexible, but provides strength to the cell, which protects the cell against physical damage.
2) It helps to maintain the shape of the cell.Prevents overexpansion by water.
3) Prevents passage of harmful molecules to pass across.
