Describe the events that took place in Paris in 1848.

a. 1848 , proved to be an eventful year in Paris
b. This year was characterised by acute food shortage, unemployment resulting in widespread agitation on part of the people.
c. All this compelled Louis Philippe to flee.
d. Further, under the rising demand and growing resentment among the people, the National Assembly declared France to be Republic.
e. It also extended political, voting rights to all the adult male population, above the age of 21.
f. It also recognised right to work, resulting in the establishment of workshops to generate employment.
