Dear student The National movement was not merely a struggle against foreign rule. It was also a struggle to rejuvenate our country and to transform our society and politics. There were sharp differences in the freedom struggle about the path India should take after Independence. Some basic rules had to come to be accepted by almost everyone. So, our leaders sought to draft a document or a set of rules that can be accepted by all the citizens of the country called Constitution. Regards
