    • Mansabdari system
      • The Mansabdari system was an administration reform, which was introduced by the Mughals. In this system, the military officers were given the title Mansabs.
      • The military officers who held the position of Mansab were called Mansabdars.
      • The position of the Mansabdars was determined by the Zat (rank and salary) and Sawar (the strength of horses they had).
    • Jagirdari system
      • The Jagirdari system was an administration reform introduced by the Mughals in which the Mughals gave lands ‘jagir’ to the Mansabdars in place of salary.
      • The officers who were given the possession right of these lands or jagirs were called jagirdars.
      • The position of jagirdars was not hereditary. They held the power to collect revenue from their assigned area of land.
