(a) Biofortification: It is the process by which the nutritional value of food is improved using various techniques like agronomic practices, conventional selective breeding, genetic engineering or modern biotechnology. It aims to combat malnutrition in developing countries. It is a means of delivering micronutrients to the large population.
(b) Tissue culture: It is the process by which the tissue or cell obtained from living organism is grown in an artificial culture medium. Broth or agar is the common media used in tissue culture.
