Describe the formation of Acetyl Coenzyme A

Acetyl Coenzyme A is formed by the oxidative phosphorylation of pyruvate molecule in sufficient amount of oxygen is present in the mitochondrial matrix which is catalyzed by an enzyme known as pyruvate dehydrogenase and contain thiamine pyrophosphate as the coenzyme. Carbon dioxide is removed and Acetyl Coenzyme A is formed. This is known as the gateway of Kreb's cycle.
