Describe the functions of human testes.

The testis or testicle (singular) is the reproductive gland found in males. They are present in a pair and are enclosed in a pouch-like structure called the scrotum. They are mainly involved in the production of male gametes and sex hormones. They produce sperms and androgens mainly testosterone. The production of testosterone is controlled by the luteinizing hormone and the production of sperms is controlled by follicle-stimulating hormone and testosterone.
