The silkworms grow in size feeding on mulberry leaves and when it is ready to enter the next stage of its life history called pupa, it first weaves a covering to hold itself, which is known as a cocoon. Pupa develops inside the cocoon into a moth and comes out as an adult male or a female silk moth.
