• Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji was imprisoned on the 24th of May, 1606 A.D. under the order of the Mughal emperor Jahangir and was brought to Lahore.
• Later on, Jahangir passed the order for his execution and Guruji’s family was told to be handed over to Murtaza Khan
• Guruji’s property was also confiscated and he was tortured extremely.
• Finally, Guru Arjan Dev ji attained martyrdom on the 30th of May, 1606 A.D.
• Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji is referred to as ‘Shaheedan Da Sartaj’ which means ‘supreme amongst martyrs’ as per the Sikh traditions.
