Question

Describe the method for predicting if a motion is uniformly accelerated or not:

Open in App
Solution

There are many methods.
  1. Acceleration will be constant, so velocity increases uniformly.a=v/t. When a is constant, v/t must be constant. Time goes on increasing, so velocity must propotionally increase to keep a constant.
  2. Acceleration time graph is straight line parallel to x axis.
  3. Velocity time graph is a straight line , lined to x axis by 45 degrees.
  4. Distance time graph is a curve.
  5. Distance of body increases exponentially. That means , acceleration = distance / time². As acceleration is constant, distance must increase with square of time. So, there is a drastic increase in distance.
