Agar is most commonly used to prepare solid media. A culture media can be simply prepared by mixing the required composition of mix E.g, Nutrient Agar is added to nutrient broth (a mixture of peptone, sodium chloride in required amount) and then heated at 100⁰C to melt the agar and then cooled.
