The population of Sri Lanka is divided on the basis of language.74 percent of people are Sinhala speakers and 18 percent are Tamil speakers .Among Tamils there are two groups Sri Lankan Tamil which comprises 13 percent of population and Indian Tamils.Most of the Tamils are Hindus and Muslims .Here the Sinhala speakers are in majority and they foster Buddhism.
