Open in App
Solution

Both the devices work on the principle of transmitting waves and detecting the reflected wave.

SONAR i.e. SOUND NAVIGATION RANGING works on the principle of echoes.

There are mainly two types of the SONAR

1).Active- these are the ones which send sound pulses and receives echo.

The sound produced may be in audible range 20Hz20KHzor may be higher than that.

2).Passive- these are the ones which only receives echo and don’t transmit anything.

RADAR-RADIO DETECTION AND RANGING

This sends the radio signals into that bounces back to the device and get detected. and amplified by the receiver then indicator which shows the range and direction of target.

It also ranges the distance of the target from the set.

A transmitter has many parts transmitter, an antenna, receiver and indicator.
