It is given that a coin is tossed and a dice is thrown.

When a coin is tossed, the possible outcomes are a head or a tail.

When a dice is thrown, the possible outcomes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Therefore, the number of outcomes when a coin is tossed and a dice is thrown is S={ ( xy ):x=H,T;y=1,2,3,4,5,6 } .

Thus, the sample space when a dice is thrown and a coin is tossed is,

S={ ( H1 ),( H2 ),( H3 ),( H4 ),( H5 ),( H6 ),( T1 ),( T2 ),( T3 ),( T4 ),( T5 ),( T6 ) }
