Structure of plasma membrane:

The plasma membrane is made up of lipids and proteins.

According to the fluid mosaic model, there are two types of protein molecules distributed in the fluid phospholipid layer which are Intrinsic proteins and extrinsic proteins.

The function of plasma membrane:

Plasma membrane is a living and selectively permeable membrane it permits the entry and exit of some molecules.

Certain biological or physiological activities such as active transport and endocytosis are performed by the plasma membrane.

Diffusion and osmosis are the physical activities that take place through the plasma membrane.
