Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA is a polymer of nucleotides. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogenous base. (1 Mark)
The four nitrogenous bases in DNA are adenine (A) and guanine (G), cytosine (C) and thymine (T). The bases on one strand pair with the bases on another strand. (1 Mark)

The DNA molecule consists of two strands that wind around one another to form a shape known as double helix. (1 Mark)
