Sweat glands:

  1. Sweat is produced by sudoriferous glands or sweat glands.
  2. The two types of sweat glands are apocrine glands and eccrine glands.
  3. Eccrine glands are in abundance over the body and open directly on the surface of the skin.
  4. Eccrine sweat glands are known to produce hypotonic sweat by the process of thermoregulation.
  5. Eccrine sweat gland is found on the forehead, soles of the feet, and palms of hands.
  6. Apocrine glands open into the hair follicle which leads to the surface of the skin.
  7. Apocrine glands are found in armpits and scalp.
