Describe the two types of glycocalyxfound in bacterial cells.

Glycocalyx is the additional outer layer of cell wall found in bacterial cell. The two types of glycocalyx layers found in bacteria are :-
1) Slime layer - Here the glycoprotein molecules are loosely associated with cell wall of the bacteria.
2) Capsule - Here polysaccharides are more firmly attached to the cell wall of the bacteria.
