Waste is divided into two types- Biodegradable wastes and Non-biodegradable waste. These two kinds of wastes are explained below:-
Biodegradable waste
Biodegradable waste can be composted to obtain manure. Biodegradable wastes decompose themselves over a period of time depending on the material. The wastes which come from our home include food remains, garden waste, etc. are example of Biodegradable waste.
Non-biodegradable waste
Non-biodegradable wastes do not decompose by themselves and hence are major pollutants. Non-biodegradable waste is known as dry waste, for example old newspapers, plastics, etc.
