Birth control and population control methods:
The methods or devices of birth control that deliberately prevent fertilization (fusion of male gamete with female gamete)that referred to as contraceptive methods.
These methods help women to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Types of birth control methods:
Barrier methods: This involves putting up a barrier between the male and the female sex cells (sperms and ova).
Chemical methods: These include contraceptive pills and spermicides.
Intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD): Intrauterine devices or IUDs are small T-shaped devices planted in the uterus. There are two types of IUDs- copper IUDs and hormonal IUDs.
Natural methods: Natural birth control methods include total and continuous abstinence and the rhythm method.
Surgical methods: Men and women could be surgically operated on to prevent fertilization. For women, the process is called tubal ligation, and for men, it is called vasectomy.
