Solution
Pollen grain germinates on the surface of the stigma. When the pollen grain lands on the surface of the stigma, it is dehydrated, so it absorbs water and becomes hydrated. A tiny pollen tube is then produced which comes out from one of the germ pores on the surface of the pollen grain and enters the stigma and grows in the style to reach the ovary. The tube nucleus moves into the pollen tube and then the generative cell also moves into the pollen tube. Generative cell divides into 2 male gametes one of which will fuse with the egg cell to form a zygote and the other will fuse with the central cell to form endosperm.
