Describe the ways in which water absorbed by plant is utilised.

Following are the ways by which plant uses the water absorbed by it- Transportation: The water carries various substances in the form of solution. Water helps in transport of food and minerals through phloem and xylem respectively. Food production: The water is an important component which helps the plants produce food by photosynthesis. During photosynthesis water reacts with carbon dioxide in presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce glucose which is the food of plants. Cooling: Water also has a cooling effect on plants. When excess water is transpired from the leaf surfaces in the form of water vapour, it has a cooling effect on the plants.
