Typhoid is a common disease in humans which is caused by bacteria.
Name of pathogen: Salmonella typhi is the pathogen of typhoid.
Test for confirmation of disease: Typhoid fever could be confirmed by the Widal test.
Ways of infection: These pathogens generally enter the small intestine through contaminated food and water and migrate to other organs through blood.
Main symptoms of the disease: Sustained high fever (39 degree to 40 degree Celsius), weakness, stomach pain, constipation, headache and loss of appetite are the common symptoms of this disease. Intestinal perforation and death may occur in severe cases.
