Solution
Rectilinear motion: If a body moves along a straight line, its motion is called rectilinear motion. Some examples are an automobile (bicycle, car, bus, scooter, etc.) moving on a straight road,
Circular motion: An object is said to be in a circular or circulatory motion if it moves around a fixed point in a circular path. It is a special type of curvilinear motion in which the distance of the moving object from a fixed point remains constant. Some examples of circular motion are a child sitting on a merry-go-round.
Rotary motion: If a body moves or spins about a fixed axis without changing the radius of its motion, it is said to be in rotatory motion. Some examples are a movement of a fan and the motion of a potter's wheel.
Oscillatory motion: It can be best explained with the help of the motion of the pendulum of a wall clock. Here the pendulum as a whole moves back and forth about its mean position. The position of an object where it rests when not moving is its mean position. So, when a body as a whole move back and forth (or to and fro) about its mean position, its motion is described as oscillatory motion.
Vibratory motion: It is a type of oscillatory motion. A body is said to exhibit vibratory motion if a part of the body moves back and forth about its mean position. The movement of strings in musical instruments like guitar.
Rolling motion: If a body exhibits both rotatory as well as translatory motion, its motion is called rolling motion. The movement of a scooter/car/bicycle wheel, the motion of a ball moving along the ground.
