Solution

The correct option is B Connect the epithelial cells
A desmosome, also known as macula adherents, is a cell structure specialised for cell-to-cell adhesion. They are small, circular, dense area that forms the site of adhesion between certain epithelial cells, especially the stratified epithelium of the epidermis. Though desmosomes are intercellular junctions that provide strong adhesion between cells, they also link intracellularly to the intermediate filament cytoskeleton and form adhesive bonds in a network that gives mechanical strength to tissues. Thus, they resist mechanical stress are abundant in tissues, such as epidermis and myocardium that are continually assailed by mechanical forces. So, the correct answer is option A.
