In stems of dicotyledons growing temperate regions, due to maximum seasonal variations, vascular cambial ring produces two types secondary xylems spring or early wood or autumn wood or late wood. Both spring wood and autumn wood associate together and forms into a ring of secondary xylem called Annular ring. In every year one annual ring is formed. Number of annual rings gives the age of the trees. It is called Dendrochronology.
