Ratio of 8 to 12 $=\frac{8}{12}=\frac{8÷4}{12÷4}=\frac{2}{3}=\mathbf{2}\mathbf{}\mathbf{:}\mathbf{}\mathbf{3}$

Since, Rs. 12 : Rs 18 = 8 : 12

Hence, Rs. 12 : Rs. 18 and 8 : 12 are in proportion.
